Track: A complete and utter Bastos

The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps motor-racing circuit is one of the most challenging race tracks in the world, renowned for it's fast, hilly and twisty nature. It's also the venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, and of the Spa 24 Hours and 1000 km Spa endurance races.

In 1982, the BASTOS BMW E28 driven by Armin Hahne, Eddy Joosen and Hans Heyer reigned supreme, beating out a host of other European and Japanese cars to take the flag. In fact, the E28s dominated taking out 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place. A Five-fecta. Or whatever the word is. In doing so, cementing a motorsport legacy for these early super sedans thanks to reliability and being able to take a shove or ten.

This E28, although a later M535i, is a tribute to the race winner. The stickers were sourced from vintage photos and then transferred onto a blueprint of the car, and customised to allow for differences in the road-going version such as door-protectors and bumpers. After custom-designing the stickers, each was hand cut and adhered onto the car body. The stickers are sun and weather-proof laminated vinyl, however they won't stop people yelling out 'hey Bastos!' at the traffic lights. Repeatedly.
